Designed custom digital brochure to celebrate the Berkeley Chess School’s 40th Anniversary and fundraising campaign. I worked closely with the chess school’s founder and Rangr Studio to include meaningful content and images of the proposed building improvements and expansion.

Muni Diaries

To celebrate Muni's 100th anniversary, I designed a logo, illustration, and advertisement for Muni Diaries' 100 Days, 100 Muni Stories story drive. Readers could submit a Muni story within 100 days of the start of the contest and a portion of their story could end up on a bus ad.

With the help of the San Francisco Metropolitan Transportation Agency (SFMTA), portions of the winning stories appeared on advertisements inside buses citywide.

Jett Turns Three

Designed custom invitations and envelopes for Jett Jagger, son of Abby Guido, part owner of the amazing Beijos Events. Inspired by retro fonts and a watercolor hand drawn look, I designed these black, tan and indigo invitations with a California retro vibe.

Designed this stunning wedding invitation suite for this beautiful couple (her last name is Libbie and his last name is Libby!) who got married at the gorgeous Beaulieu Garden in Napa, California. Gold foil lettepress printed pieces mixed with pretty paper and various patterns in classy black, gold, and blush colors. Every piece, from the save the date cards, the well wishes cards, the signature cocktail cards, to the giant wall of fame for guests, was completely personalized with custom details.

Custom designed this wedding invitation set for a sweet couple who got married at a private estate in St. Helena, California. Inspired by sweet vintage florals and rustic tea towels in pink, orange, and french blue tones, the invitation set also included custom screen printed tea towels and recipe cards as favors for each guest.

Custom designed this wedding invitation set for a cute and quirky couple. Modern icons depict the couple's favorite things which include beer, polar bears, cooking, reading, jack rabbits, and the Mint building in San Francisco where they got engaged. The color palette of sunshine yellow, umber and gray set the tone for the fun wedding held at Hopmunk Tavern in Sebastopol, California.

I designed a logo/branding for the blog Picnic and Camp Picnic, an arts and crafts camp for children during the summer months.
Because the Picnic blog encompassed a variety of topics, I wanted to keep the logo simple, clean and black and white. I was inspired by patterns and designed a logo using a combination of a black and white buffalo plaid pattern and a striped pattern. The Camp Picnic logo was a variation of the Picnic logo--it has a more arts/crafts/camp-like feel but in a modern way. I also created a rubber stamp from this logo to be used on kraft notebooks and other collateral given at the camp sessions.

Designed a letterpress and gold foil invitation set for this beautiful couple's wedding held at Beaulieu Garden in Rutherford, California. Combining tonal pale blue accents with dreamy abstract clouds and leaves, along with gold foil, set the tone for romance.

The entire invitation was delivered in translucent envelopes sealed with Japanese washi tape and a custom wraparound address label.

Lucas has really been into reading letters and numbers on everything from books to license plates so this year we threw him a letters and numbers inspired birthday party. For the invitation I basically set up a mini photo shoot with words out of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (another one of his favorites). It was super easy, fun and tasty. The gray envelope was custom lined using a recent favorite photo of Lucas “reading” a newspaper. I also designed custom wraparound address labels and a directions card with another photo of Lucas lining up his cars and counting them.

The theme of Lucas' 4th birthday party was super heroes. While he loves all kinds of super heroes -- Captain America, Flash, Spider-Man, etc., I really wanted the party to be about the super powers of Lucas and his friends (I spend enough time getting shot with spiderwebs and saving people in the Batmobile).

The invitations were printed in black and green on heavy white cotton paper with a clean, minimal design highlighting Super Lucas. Each invitation set included custom tattoos and instructions packaged in a small glassine envelope for each guest. The tattoos had the guest's name (i.e. Super Connor) as well as super hero speech bubbles with expressions like "WOW", "OK", "YES", and "COOL" instead of the usual "POW" and "BANG" expressions. The envelopes were lined with a pattern of the same super hero expressions.

For Lucas' 5th birthday party he asked for a "Wild Kratts" party. If you haven't seen this show, it's an educational animated series on PBS, created by and starring brothers Chris and Martin Kratt. The show is full of fun facts about animals, ranging from polar bears to geckos, and each episode features a particular critter's unique "creature power". Lucas gets really excited learning about animal powers and defenses, and I love when he enlightens me with new animal facts! This year we decided to throw a modernized animal-themed birthday party together with Judah, Lucas' good friend from school, who turned five the day before.

Starting with the invitation design, I painted abstract animal patterns using simple black watercolor paint, and hand wrote "Go Wild" which would later become a logo for the party. I took a cute photo of Lucas and Judah and used it as a custom envelope liner. The envelopes were finished with matching wraparound address labels.

For Lucas' 6th birthday party, we had a magic themed party complete with a DIY playing card pinata, make-you-own magic wand table, mochi ice cream, donut holes, and an amazing show with Magical Nathaniel. The invitations featured a rabbit image and a custom rubber stamp. The envelopes were finished a black and white photo liner with matching wraparound address labels.

Lucas' 7th birthday party was a Pokemon-themed party complete with a DIY Poke Ball pinata, donut holes, homemade Poke Balls with surprises wrapped inside, Japanese food, and Pokemon face paintings. The bright yellow invitations featured a big “7” on the front and a yellow balloon taped to the back with Japanese washi tape. The envelopes were finished a black and white photo liner with matching wraparound address labels.

Designed a baseball-inspired party with invitations in a bold red duotone design. The party was held at a local park and included donut holes and a DIY baseball pinata filled with Big League chew, double bubble gum, Cracker Jacks, baseball cards, and whistles.

Lucas had a quarantine 10th birthday. I designed invitations with photos of Lucas from each year that were emailed to friends and family. The day started off with a treasure hunt at home, a picnic lunch with his favorite sandwich from Bartavelle, a surprise drive-by that included all of his local friends stopping by with signs, beeps, and well wishes, a Zoom video call for those who couldn’t make the drive-by, his favorite sushi dinner from Kamado, and cupcakes from Love and First Bite.

Designed 4 x 6 sized invitations for a traditional Chinese Red Egg and Ginger party for Lucas Wren Jackson. Digitally printed in full color, these invitations highlighted a full sized photo of baby Lucas with detailed information in a punchy red and persimmon color scheme. Matching custom address labels were created for the persimmon colored envelopes. A twist on the traditional Chinese red envelope with money, I designed a custom rubber stamp with gold metallic ink. Inside each envelope was one Year of the Tiger themed California scratcher lottery ticket.

Inspired by our unique story of meeting on BART and writing anonymous notes to each other, our wedding invitation book and collateral included a bird motif as well as a color theme of chocolate brown, green, and turquoise. I designed the invitations, map, rsvp postcard, menus, note card favors, place cards, guest baskets, and signs for the limeade stand, gift and guest tables. This very personalized wedding took place at the Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley overlooking Richardson Bay.

Inspired by moving boxes, these postcard-sized housewarming invitations were created out of hand cut reused cardboard boxes. The invitations were hand screen printed with black ink and mailed out to friends and family as postcards.

Plans for Theo’s 1st birthday party came together rather quickly. A super mellow second child, Theo did not seem to mind at all. In fact, he is smiley and happy about 85% of the time so I decided to make “smiles and saying cheese” the theme of his party. I took a bunch of photos one day while he was eating (his favorite thing to do) and turned them into a mini flip book. They were mailed out in gray envelopes with custom liners.

The wide open space at Big Sky, Montana set the tone for this letterpress invitation set. Big, sweeping meadow grass in summery moss green adorn the invitation printed on wood. The wedding weekend festivities included a chuckwagon barbeque, fly fishing, and a farewell brunch, which were all depicted on a custom map/weekend card.

With a clean, white background and overhead baby photo, this birth announcement for Theo Colin May Jackson was designed to highlight the origin of the name as well as all the pertinent baby stats. A family photo covered the back and multi-colored striped envelope liners with the greeting, "Say Hello to" lined the envelope flap. Matching custom wraparound address labels were created for the slate colored envelopes.
